Created in 2016 by Danish sound and interaction designer Egil Sandfeld in Copenhagen, Digital Race Engineer (DRE) is an audio-first virtual race engineer, 3D positional spotter, and real-time telemetry companion for iRacing, Le Mans Ultimate (LMU), Assetto Corsa Competizione (ACC), and Assetto Corsa. Designed to eliminate visual screen clutter—especially for VR and single-monitor drivers—DRE combines a neural speech recognition engine supporting over 400 natural voice commands with auditory pitch-based Delta Waves, overtake/defend radar alerts, wet-weather tire crossover calculations, automated fuel-to-finish strategy, and shared endurance team telemetry.
