In 2021, Stanley Lin, a Canadian mechanical engineer and avid hobby racer, set out to revolutionize the world of sim racing. Frustrated by the lack of high-quality yet affordable sim racing cockpits, Stanley embarked on a mission to provide a solution. He envisioned a way to offer top-notch performance and craftsmanship without the hefty price tag.
Drawing on his background in automotive engineering, Stanley’s first creation was an 8020 aluminum cockpit. After numerous design iterations and rigorous testing, he achieved a perfect balance of durability, portability, and, most importantly, rigidity. This cockpit promised years of racing enjoyment.
The quest for manufacturing excellence was the next challenge. Stanley scoured the globe for a manufacturing partner capable of consistently meeting the high standards of 6 Sigma. Drawing on his experience sourcing automotive components for a major North American auto manufacturer, he found the ideal partner in China. This manufacturer possessed state-of-the-art equipment, skilled personnel, advanced assembly processes, and rigorous quality control procedures.
To ensure impeccable quality, each unit undergoes a comprehensive inspection at the manufacturing facility before being partially disassembled for shipping. With a solid design and manufacturing partner in place, production of 6 Sigma’s flagship 6S-160 FIRST EDITION began in 2021. This venture marked a significant milestone in the world of affordable yet premium sim racing cockpits.
